Plug In With Pastor Chris: National Day of Prayer

Image may contain: text
Once a year on the first Thursday of May, Christians gather together to pray for our nation. It’s the National Day of Prayer, a day set aside for America to seek God in faith and unity. It’s easy to pray generically and ask God to bless America. From reading the Bible, we know and understand God loves the details of our lives. Our Heavenly Father wants us to live in a continual attitude of prayer.
It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.

If you're wondering how exactly to pray for the United States, your state, city and church, you aren't alone. Observing the National Day of Prayer may seem a little overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be. Start with the following Scriptures and list of topics as inspiration for prayer and see where your hearts leads you.

If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. ~~ 2 Chronicles 7:14
